What is Connections?
The New York Times, the company that owns Wordle, publishes one of the most well-liked daily puzzle games, Connections. Connections aim to divide the day’s sixteen words into four groups, each consisting of four words with a common subject.
The words “Hook,” “Nana,” “Peter,” and “Wendy,” for example, are all Peter Pan characters. For instance, the terms “Action,” “Ballpark,” “Go,” and “Stick” frequently appear immediately before the word “Figure.”
Your job is to figure out what these themes are that connect the various words – but be wary because a lot of the time, there are red herring connections placed in there deliberately to throw you off! To win, you must find all four Connections without making four mistakes. When you make your fourth mistake, the game ends and the answer is shown immediately.
Each of the four groups in each day’s Connections puzzle is also assigned a different colour, representing how easy or difficult the Connection is to find. The colours are Yellow (Easiest), Green (Easy), Blue (Medium), and Purple (Hardest). That’s a wrap for today’s guide on solving the NYT Connections word puzzle!
